Jakes night was pretty active. He was moving more and more and trying to raise his head, all good things. But since hes not awake, they have to calm him so he doesnt get too agitated. Took a lot to keep him down! Ended up having to add sedation drip that they can pause when they do neuro check. They call it a sedation vacation. He did end up needing some Tylenol for his temp, and that worked so he did not need the cooling blanket. So now he just has a low grade fever. 99.3 To be sure that is just due to the cooling process and not an infection, they sent blood cultures to lab and well have those results in a couple days. They went ahead and added another antibiotic as a preventative in case it is infection. Chest X-rays are improving but still show something in lungs. The neuro checks at 12 & 4 were good, but we are still looking for more consistent responses to the prompts. He did try to open eyes when prompted. Again, the agitation/sedation was still trying to be worked out so that had a lot to do with it. Vital signs are good. Heart rate good. Blood pressure is good now. A little low due to sedative, but not concerning anymore. So thats where we are! I feel good about it and am expecting another good day today. Before I go to sleep and if I wake up in the night, I read over your posts and prayers. Theyre so encouraging to me and keep my mind from going anywhere dark. I very much appreciate them. I know God is using this to SHINE through Jake and I hope everyone can see that. I know He has BIG plans for him.
