This sounds obvious but in many cases the bank or original lender is likely no more the mortgage provider. The second question when an entity is foreclosing is, “Where is the promissory note?” (The paper that tells how much you will pay and at what rate.) You are entitled to a discovery process; that is, the mortgage provider must provide all the documentation you or your lawyer request to prove their case."
