Japan recognizes our Japanese-American communities efforts to help Sendai in Miyagi, Japan, after the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Although this is a Japanese news feature, be patient as you watch, and note these interviews: The news team is following a taiko group fm Sendai that performed in the Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival and at the Aratani Theater in Little Tokyo, to thank us for our support; They also visited with some local businesses, who helped contribute financially to recovery efforts, one is at Fugetsu-do Confections with owner, Brian, and they also visited with some of the locals who attended a picnic, hosted by people whose families came fm Miyagi prefecture (Miyagi Kenjin Kai, or The Miyagi Prefecture Association); at this picnic, Keiko (Kawashima) Kashiwagi, talks about the donation of $25,000 to build a playground in Sendai.
