Jehovahs Witnesses are extremely exclusivistic in viewing the Watchtower Society as the sole possessor and propagator of Gods truth. Other Christian organizations are viewed as deceptive and rooted in the work of the devil. Unorthodox Doctrines: In 1879 a Bible study leader named Charles Taze Russell was looking for a way to expound his somewhat peculiar teachings. He had departed from orthodoxy by denying the existence of Hell, the Trinity, and the deity of Christ, and felt compelled to reach a larger audience. He co-published The Herald of the Morning Magazine with its founder, N.H. Barbour, and it is here that we find the first records of Russells movement. By 1884 Russell controlled the publication, renamed it The Watch Tower Announcing Jehovahs Kingdom, and founded Zions Watch Tower Track Society (now know as the Watch Tower Bible and Track Society.)
