Jeremiah 18 Divine Sovereignty Jeremiah 18:3] Then I went down - TopicsExpress

Jeremiah 18 Divine Sovereignty Jeremiah 18:3] Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4] And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make [it]. Jeremiah is going to get a special object lesson which shows The potters house = Divine Sovereignty In verse 4 it shows how the potter has complete power over the clay and if he chooses to make a vessel unto honor or dis-honor it was up to him as given below: Jeremiah 18:5] Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 6] O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay [is] in the potter’s hand, so [are] ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. In today christian world, i see so many leaders beat their chest taking God glory upon them self. I would be scared stiff to do what i see these leaders doing, declaring healing service (as though they command God), the name it and claim it group, etc. They also seek to credit man for the work of God and they are but a vessel. I thank God that my salvation is based upon 1. God sovereign purpose: Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 2. God Solemn promise: Romans 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, Upon his much more love: 3. Romans 5:6-10 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. If i have anything to boast on it certainly is not my works, ability, intellect, etc, but i make my boast on he who first loved me Jesus Christ our soon coming king. I have only listed 3 reason above for the sure and complete work of salvation, but there is many more given in the Bible.
