Jesus Feels Your Pain "This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: "He took our illnesses and bore our diseases." Parents suffer when a child is in pain. Most parents would do anything to relieve their child’s pain, even taking it upon themselves if that were possible. But pain can’t be transferred from one person to another, although many parents truly hurt for their ailing children. While we may feel the hurt of someone close to us, we certainly don’t feel the pain of those we don’t know or care about. But Jesus was different. Long before He was born, the prophet Isaiah had described Jesus as a suffering servant. When He walked this earth, Jesus hurt with those who hurt and felt the pain of those who suffered. And whether for his mother or a total stranger, Jesus not only felt their pain but also took action to relieve it. Jesus still feels our pain today. He suffers with us. And He wants to help. He knows illness and pain often result from sin. He can bring wholeness to lives that have been broken by sin and sorrow. Father, thank You for sending Jesus, who not only feels my pain but also heals my deepest needs.
