Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves & had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval." John 6:26-27 So often, we ask Jesus for a gift, stubbornly clinging to our desires. Yet He has a far better gift in mind. We may want Him to heal our body, but He wants to give us a better gift- the gift of getting closer to Him while relying on Him through uncertainty. We want tranquil relationships, but He wants us to learn the gift of love that can endure through conflicts. We want more earthly blessings, but He wants to give us the true blessing He offers- eternal life with Him.
