Jesus the barley Bread And when Gideon had come, there was a man telling a dream to his companion. He said, “I have had a dream: To my surprise, a loaf of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian; it came to a tent and struck it so that it fell and overturned, and the tent collapsed.” (Judges 7:13 NKJV). Jesus is this barley bread invite Him into your life to fight for you. He will will destroy all your diseases. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.” (John 6:51 NKJV).We think we are suppose to fight the devil, and all our enemys which the devil is the real corporate behind all. Let me show you a verse in the bible when Jesus cast out several demons out of this man. Then they sailed to the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee. And when He stepped out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demons for a long time. And he wore no clothes, nor did he live in a house but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!” For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had often seized him, and he was kept under guard, bound with chains and shackles; and he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the wilderness. (Luke 8:26-29 NKJV) The bible says Then they sailed to the country of the Gadarenes. His disciples were with Him, but why didnt they get out with Him? Because they knew their place they knew they had the barley bread of life with them. Sometimes we have to go through things in life to find out its not about us, but about Him, and Him alone. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. (II Corinthians 4:7 NKJV). What is this earthen vessel Paul is talking about? Paul is talking about Christ in us by the way of the Holy Spirit. Lets go to the story of Gideon again. Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet into every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers. (Judges 7:16 NKJV). Why three hundred? And why torches inside the pitchers? three hundred is the number of victory in the bible, and this word pitcher is the word vessel in Hebrew. So when we talk, and preach on Christ and His finish work the light shines through our earthen vessel. “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. (Luke 8:16 NKJV). This is where The Lord wants to put us. Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers—they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing—and they cried, “The sword of the LORD and of Gideon!” And every man stood in his place all around the camp; and the whole army ran and cried out and fled. When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the LORD set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp; and the army fled to Beth Acacia, toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah, by Tabbath. (Judges 7:20-22 NKJV) And the LORD said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’ (Judges 7:2 NKJV). So we see here The Lord told Gideon lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me. You see The Lord wants to work for us, and through us, but we are still saying man has his part, and God has his part; your earthen vessel still needs to be broken. Lets see how God told Gideon to get rid of some of the soldiers. So he brought the people down to the water. And the LORD said to Gideon, “Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart by himself; likewise everyone who gets down on his knees to drink.” And the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people got down on their knees to drink water. Then the LORD said to Gideon, “By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, every man to his place.” (Judges 7:5-7 NKJV). Paul says this, All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. (I Corinthians 6:12 NKJV). So Paul says all things are lawful, but not all things are edifying for us. Lets not be like those that just throw themselves into the water face first. In other words throwing yourself face first into this world. We conduct the affairs in this world, but we do it with a lose hand. We are to be like the men that held the water within their hands. The first thing that should concern us is to always have a good testimony for our Lord. We should always want to glorify Him. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. (II Timothy 2:20-21 NKJV). We should always want to be useful for the Master for every good work which He has already prepared for us to walk in them. We do not try to create them, they have already been prepared by HIM!!! You might be like Gideon and say I dont really know the word of God, Im not like so in so. The Lord does not see us in the flesh. He sees us in Christ not in the natural but in the spirit. And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!” (Judges 6:12 NKJV). The Lord called him mighty man of valor!” The word valor is chayil in Hebrew, and it means strength, might, efficiency, wealth. So as I said God does not see us in the natural. But you still might be like Gideon, and still doubt. So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” (Judges 6:15 NKJV) So you might be telling The Lord you are least in the church, and you are blind because you cannot see like others see. Beloved The Lord will not pass you by when you say you are blind, but He will pass by those who say oh I can see I got it together. But you beloved He will take you by the hand and show you His SON. So Gideon said to God, “If You will save Israel by my hand as You have said— look, I shall put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; if there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that You will save Israel by my hand, as You have said.” And it was so. When he rose early the next morning and squeezed the fleece together, he wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowlful of water. Then Gideon said to God, “Do not be angry with me, but let me speak just once more: Let me test, I pray, just once more with the fleece; let it now be dry only on the fleece, but on all the ground let there be dew.” And God did so that night. It was dry on the fleece only, but there was dew on all the ground. (Judges 6:36-40 NKJV). God showed Gideon His SON. This fleece is CHRIST; The Lord came to us full of GRACE, and DEW, but we were the ground dry; and for us to have this position of grace He had to go to the cross and become dry, so we can become dew. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (II Corinthians 5:21 NKJV) God bless
