Jo posts, Hi, my name is Jo and I was wondering if you would post this please. I live in a regional area and have been diagnosed with CFS and Fibro for a number of years now. A year ago I was diagnosed with MS, but it seems they got it wrong and I dont have MS. I am quite disabled, some days brushing my hair is not possible, but other days I manage to cook a meal ok. The actual problem is that I need to see a Rheumatologist. My GP wrote a referral to one at a public hospital and received a letter back saying that because I have no inflammatory markers in my blood tests and no indications of an autoimmune disease process and therefore under the new Guidelines the clinic wont see me because I dont qualify??? Now what am I supposed to do. I have no job, my partner earns just enough income to not qualify for a health care card and Centrelink wont pay me a disability because so far the doctors cant agree. I feel like Ive been shoved into the too hard basket! Thanks Jo
