Job Announcement Two Positions: - Public Relations Officer (Part-time) - Admin Secretary (Full Time) DEADLINE: 30 October 2014 The Club of Cambodian Journalists (CCJ) is seeking qualified candidates to be recruited to the positions as Public Relations and Social Media Officer. CCJ Background The CCJ was formed in 2000 by Cambodian publishers, editors and journalists from different national and international news agencies and political tendencies in order to serve the interest of Cambodian journalists. CCJ is not a political organization; neither does it serve the interest of any political group. Rather, it is a non-governmental organization, which acts independently and neutrally to protect and act in the interest of Cambodian journalists. The goal of CCJ is to secure the rights of journalists in Cambodia and improve their working conditions. Additionally, CCJ aims at promoting press freedom, spread independent and trustworthy journalism throughout Cambodia, improve professional capabilities and foster cooperation among its members and with their national and international colleagues. CCJ focuses its main activities on the organization of monthly roundtable discussions, editors’ forums, training courses and seminars and monitoring journalism in Cambodia. Two Positions are needed: 1. Public Relations Officer(Part-time, 20 hours a week) The Public Relations Officer is responsible for handling all aspects of planned publicity and public relations activities of the CCJ. The responsibilities of the Public Relations Officer are: - Maintaining and updating CCJ’s online presence and improve the visibility of CCJ through social media - Providing updates and information on social media outlets and the CCJ website - Researching, writing and distributing press releases and statements to targeted media - Dealing with inquiries from the public and related organizations - Establishingand fostering a broad network with relevant institutions, individuals etc. - Setting-up and maintaining a comprehensive contact database - Planning, developing and implementing CCJ strategies - Promoting the activities of CCJ - Analyzing media coverage - Writing and analyzing speeches, articles and annual reports - Organizing events such as press conferences Requirements: - Bachelor degree in a related field - 2-3 years of work experience in public relations - Very good communication skills in English and Khmer - Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Social Media etc.) - Commitment to the work of CCJ and its members and the promotion of press freedom - Creativity - Good interpersonal skills - Ability to work under time pressure - Experience with journalism is an advantage Women are encouraged to apply for this position. Admin Secretary (Only female) Requirements - Finish high school - Can speak and write English - Computer knowledge (Microsoft, Express, PowerPoint,...), email, and internet - Admin knowledge or even has some experience in the field - Like hard working and loyalty - Female member of CCJ can be a priority.
