John Adiletto to retire from UMASD. Mr. Adiletto has been with Upper Merion School District for over 35 years. He served as a teacher, Assistant Principal for 5 years and then for 17 years as Principal of the Middle School. During his tenure, the Middle School received numerous recognitions, and in 2011 Adiletto was recognized as PA Middle School Principal of the year. In the Fall of 2013, he took on a new position as Assistant to the Superintendent for Secondary Assessment and School Improvement to assist in improving academics and in other ways. It seems that our soon to retire Dr. Callahan and Mr. Adiletto had their differences. Mr. Adiletto has been out on leave, and is reportedly planning to retire in February. The School Board has a tall order to fill in finding real qualified competent leadership that will bring Upper Merion Schools up to the standard that residents expect and are paying for with their tax dollars. For the sake of our childrens futures first and foremost, as well as for our property values, Upper Merion residents need to keep apprised of the situation, and demand transparency, accountability, and the highest standards of performance from our elected school board officials and from the individuals chosen to lead our schools and teach our children.
