John Key has no choice but to start answering questions about what it means for our country to be a member of the Five-Eyes network, and what the specifics of the Five-Eyes spying is. Our privacy and rights need protecting. Its critical there is public debate and agreement on this kind of mass surveillance before it happens to us. It cant just be done without our consent. The allegations tonight strike to the heart of John Key’s honesty and integrity. If the allegations prove true John Key has, at best misled, and at worst lied to the New Zealand public on a fundamental issue of privacy.
