Joshua 24:15 Common English Bible (CEB) 15 But if it seems - TopicsExpress

Joshua 24:15 Common English Bible (CEB) 15 But if it seems wrong in your opinion to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Choose the gods whom your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But my family and I will serve the Lord.” If a person is so sinful and unable to choose whom they will serve, why would Joshua, a man who led many, ask the people this question and reveal that he and his family would serve the Lord? Calvinism, although popular among many theologians, fails to convince this preacher that it is biblically sound. Repentance is an absolute necessity when it comes to being born again. Therefore, why would John the Baptist and certainly the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ, call us to repent of sins and trust in Him for Salvation? Why would I, a sinner who allegedly was predestined by God and chosen by God, need to repent of sin? God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life. John 3:16 CEB Friends and loved ones, there is no greater truth than knowing that God loves each one of us so much, that He gave His One and Only Son so that we can be saved. Faith is the medium which enables God to see our love for Him and allows Him to show His mercy and grace upon us and establish our righteousness. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. If Calvinism were true, why would Paul make this statement or for that matter, reveal the miraculous change that Jesus Christ made within him on the Road to Damascus? I preach because I desire that all may come to know Him as Lord and Savior, just as Paul the Apostle did. To be a child of God, we must choose to surrender our lives to Christ and yield to Him in Faith. I finish with the ultimate choice I have made and hope and pray that you make the same choice within your heart and lives. As for me and my house, we choose to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Joshua 24:15 Your brother and friend, Jody
