July 16, 2013 To: Mr. Wout Matthijs CEO ,SADAFCO Dear Sir, Good day! I am Abelardo Celeste Ibon, Cooling Technician with I.D # 5844 of Abha Depot . In line with the letter I have received directly from your good office, I thought that this will be my opportunity to inform you about my concerns here in Abha Depot. 1.) Since I started working here, I don’t have a copy of my employment contract, job descriptions. For a big company, each employee should have a copy of these documents, for me also to know my span of work, and my daily working time. 2.) I was not given an insurance card, I pay from my own money if I needed to consult any doctor. My wife had an urgent operation ,and I kept on telling my supervisor about it for him to follow-up my insurance card, but instead he would get angry, so I spent my own money. Unluckily until now, I am still waiting for it to come. My line of work is always in danger because I travel a lot and as a technician for everything,electrician,plumber, carpenter, whatever my supervisor wants me to do. 3.) For a couple of months now that I don’t have my IQAMA, the HR here in Abha got it , to change the position only but until now it was not given back to me, and for the fact that I travelled a lot to different depots. 4.) If I am advised to go to another depot, my supervisor would not give me materials I needed, that’s why sometimes I buy from my own money. If I will ask for re-imbursement he would be angry and will not refund my money, I did it sometimes just to finish my work, because he wants me to come back soon, because a lot of work is waiting for me, he given his relative to accompany me if I go to different stores to pull out freezers, but he would become my liability instead if something happen because he doesn’t know anything my work. My supervisor wants me to train him, but its too difficult to train somebody who doesn’t know anything, especially my kind of work. I have requested from my supervisor for one(1) more technician, instead he ask me to look for another one. I found one applicant who can work with me, the document was already forwarded to Jeddah. 5.) My supervisor would say that I am very slow and don’t know my work. Just for you to know Sir that since I started here, I am alone working , even the work not inline with mine I did, because it is an order from him. I worked longer hours if needed without OT. Last years EID, I worked , I was told that there will be an overtime pay for it but unfortunately, until now I was not being paid. I even signed a overtime form. At first I was very glad to be hired in your prestigious company, because I know that a lot of Filipinos were working for a couple of years already , and they told me that it’s a good company, its true maybe for them, because they are not under the supervision of Mr. Salah. Actually, I am thinking of resigning not because of the company but merely ,my supervisor.
