July 25 LOOK AT ME INTIMATELY Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my thoughts; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24 HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND MYSELF How many times a day do we experience something that brings about an unexpected response? At that time we think to ourselves: I didn’t even know that thought or feeling was there. It comes as a complete surprise. When we give God permission, He will bring things to the surface that may have been buried for years. Things that we thought we had already dealt with and put to rest. We will want to be sure that it is God who is putting His finger on a past event to bring healing into our life. The Holy Spirit brings conviction. Satan brings condemnation. Make sure that we know the difference. Conviction brings repentance, forgiveness and freedom. Condemnation brings a feeling of continued guilt that never seems to go away. God wants to lead us in a path of freedom. His desire for us is to recognize His voice and repent of any wrong feelings or motives that we have had. Always remember that God knows everything that we have done. He does not condemn us but brings forgiveness. As our walk with God brings us closer to His ways of thinking, we know what pleases Him and what causes Him grief. As you study God’s word, a particular scripture may just zing you. Take it seriously. Search your heart and reestablish your fellowship with your Father, God. Wrong thoughts, desires and motives cloud our perception of what God is saying. ALLOW GOD TO CLEAR AWAY THE CLOUDS.
