Junior Software Developer General Overview Serves as a member of senior and junior developers’ team, offering good planning and developing skills for implementing major, complex integrated system projects. Can work independently to develop business functions for integrated systems using Java Server Pages, and Data Access Objects using Structured Query Language (SQL). Specific Duties Implements technical functions in the Eclipse or Netbeans environment to achieve the desired result in the system or system enhancement. Follows approved life-cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing. Develops and implements program tests; performs testing to verify that the programs function correctly and to ensure that modifications have not caused error in other parts of the program, or any interfacing programs or systems. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research and investigation. Functions and operations to select approaches for the resolution of complex problems or improving the efficiency of existing systems. Reviews and analyzes Java programs to gain a detailed understanding of the implementation of the underlying business functions. Identifies problems and documents problem definitions. Develops program documentation using structure diagrams, behavior diagrams and interaction diagrams, system and program flowcharts and test plans. Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve the supported systems. Knowledge and Skills B.Sc. in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering is preferred, or IT related degree. 1+ years of professional experience in Java development for web-based and desktops applications. Good knowledge of Information Technology concepts and principles, the theories and functions of computer systems, and the principles and techniques of Information Technology documentation. Good knowledge of the methods, procedures and techniques of conducting studies for system conversions and enhancements, including the use of structure, behavior, and interaction diagrams in the analysis and design of required systems. Ability to effectively participate in and profit from continuing education and training setting. Developed oral and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision, including large and small audience settings. Good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Good knowledge of Networking and SQL databases – MySql is preferred, Oracle is a plus. Excellent English communication skills written and spoken. Excellent presentation skills. Good knowledge of Java EE framework technologies and other frameworks like Struts, Spring, and others.
