Junipers Birth story Sweet Juniper was born December 28th at 11:32 am via C-Section 6 pounds 14 ounces and 19.5 inches long. She was taken via C-section at 37 weeks due to a few complications that increased risk of still birth the closer we got to 40 weeks. SO it was a very hard decision for all involved. Juniper is our little miracle. My sister has had many miscarriages in the past and suffers from PCOS. Last Christmas we sat on my front porch as she cried because she wanted a child of her own so bad. I prayed that night that god would bless her with a child of her own. I spoke to her the day before mothers day and told her I thought she was pregnant to take a test. She listened after some convincing and it was positive! We were so excited. It has def been a challenge having an unplanned pregnancy but that does not make the blessing any less. God has a plan for us we can not see. So Back to the birth story :) Amanda arrived to the hospital on Sunday and with Juniper still breach and the risk of turning her being pretty significant we choose to move forward with the C-Section. I talked my way into the OR ( Centennial has very very strict policies) and sat in my designated chair ( on the edge of my seat) waiting to hear a little cry. We heard Dr. Richardson say Ive got a leg as he closed his eyes to try to get a hold on her head. We soon heard the sweetest wimper. I lost it. I began sobbing. She had made it here. I was so relieved and excited. I then realized I should probably take a photo ;) My tears were fogging up my view finder. I looked over and my sister had tears of joy streaming down her face as well. She and Dewayne were holding hands so tightly waiting patiently as they gave Juniper a little oxygen and performed her Apgar score. Amandas surgery went well. They allowed us to stay in while they patched her up. I left a little early to run down the hall and show everyone this amazing little baby. Family and friends sobbed. She made it. SHe was here. Amanda is now a mommy. We were so proud. They brought her back to the room and everyone shared in her excitement. Soon after she nursed for the first time and though she was a c section and it took a while for that bonding time when it happened it went amazingly well. Amanda stayed very upbeat the whole time. We all stayed in the room loving on her through out the evening. The next day I got a call that she needed help nursing so visited and left around 11. Soon after Juniper stopped breathing. Then had another episode a few hours later. She was then transferred to NICU where after testing an observation realized that she was just not as strong and needed a few days of assistance. Here we are 7 days after her birthday and she will be coming home Tuesday :) They will be staying here with me for a few days so I can help her out with any breastfeeding issues she has. I am so thrilled to have been such a close part of all of this. I feel like god was really listening that night on my front porch and has blessed us with an amazing little life
