Just FYI. I like to park in loading zones. It saves me money, is very convenient, and when Im somewhere for just a few short minutes its nice to be able to just put on the loading lights. This said, sometimes Ive parked in loading zones for extended periods of time and not been issued a ticket. I wondered how this could be so this morning I decided to ask while having a lovely conversation with one of the citys parking patrol employees. It turns out that you can park in the loading zone for 15 minutes and be guaranteed not to have a ticket. When a parking patrol employee sees you in the loading zone they will chalk your tire or take a photo of your tire in the citys ticketing device. The next time this person returns to that loading zone, if your car is still there you will get ticketed. The good news is that the city of Winnipeg doesnt have many people patrolling the meters. It takes between 30 minutes to an hour (according to Chad) for parking patrol to fully loop an area. So this means that you can almost guarantee yourself a safe and thrifty stop in a loading zone with peace of mind and confidence that the parking patrol is not going to ticket you. Know the rules so you can play the game. Take care of yourselves and take each care of each other. Live passionately, courageously and be oh so well. ❤❤❤happy Friday❤❤❤
