Just Sharing…a Thought Today I offer you life and prosperity or death and destruction. I call on heaven and earth as witnesses today that I have offered you life or death, blessings or curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants will live. Love the LORD your God, obey Him, and be loyal to Him. Exodus 30:15&19&20a As the children of Israel was set free from the bondage of Egypt, and was lead in their exodus from the bondage that they had brought themselves into and to the freedom that God had prepared for them as He set them free from their sin; many ‘eyes were still clouded’ so they could not see the light. As is recorded in John 8:36, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed”. God the Father gave to us true freedom through His Son, Jesus Christ our Savior. Just as He sent Moses into Egypt to ‘set His people free’, so He has given “His only begotten Son” to come and pay the price for our sin and offer us the free Gift of Salvation. God’s Truth makes us free and never places us in any bondage, therefore, it is always our choice to accept even the absolute miracle of our freedom from sin, curses, death and destruction. And just as the children of Israel, many has chosen “death and destruction” rather than “life and prosperity”, which is true everlasting ‘life and blessings’ in and by God our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. It would not even logically appear that this choice would even be a moments consideration. Although, it was blatantly clear to the children of Israel that the bondage in Egypt was not where they wanted to be, they still could not clearly ‘Real Eyes’ the truth of their freedom being encompassed in ‘the LORD their God’. And so they wandered in the ‘wilderness’ for forty years, selfishly complaining, leaning to their own understanding and perished in their chosen bondage. Jesus has said to us, “Stop storing up treasures for yourselves on earth…Instead, store up treasures for yourselves in heaven…Your heart will be where your treasure is”. (Matthew 6:19-21)(Matthew 4:4; Luke 6:49) Jesus said, “The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is unclouded, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light in you be darkness, how dark it will be!” (Matthew 6:22&23) That being just as was the darkness and deception of the children of Israel as they wandered and wandered, going through the darkness of their selfish, ‘evil eye’ choice and deception. In Christ there is true Light. We can know this Light as we choose to know the Truth and ‘Real Eyes’ the freedom that He offers through an ‘unclouded eye, so that our whole body will be full of light’. We then can choose to walk in what Paul said to the Thessalonians in I Thessalonians 5:5, “You are all the children of Light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness”. (Psalm 100:3) As Jesus gave us true instruction: “If you continue in My Word, then are you My disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free”.
