Just a friendly reminder to make sure your snowmobiles are registered in BC - the laws changed and came into effect the 17th of November requiring all off-road vehicles (dirt bikes, snowmobiles, quads) to be registered with ICBC to avoid getting ticketed or having your truck/sled seized for possession of an unregistered vehicle. Also, check your vehicles payload/GVRW capacity and make sure you are not illegally overloading your truck! The tickets start at $115 and increase by how much you are overweight by per kg - you may have your vehicle seized until you remove the load. Payload capacity for half ton trucks (ie: Tundra, F150, 1500 etc) is between 1100-1600lbs - which is nowhere near enough to legally carry 2 snowmobiles and fuel, deck etc). Payload capacity includes what is in your bed and in your cab, gear, gas, people, sleds, snow etc. They will be enforcing illegal loads this year, along with rules for overhanging sleds improperly flagged, and tie downs (minimum points secured, ie: skis and track) If you are running a sled-deck, make sure it has the appropriate lighting and markings. Play by the rules, be safe and make sure you register your sleds to avoid having your day ruined or property seized. :)
