Just a reminder that STANDs Annual Speaker Series will be this Sunday March 2nd at 2:00 in UCC room 41. This year, we have the privilege of hearing from: 1. Josh Scheinert: Lawyer, Humanitarian and STAND Alumni. Josh is a lawyer practicing international trade and investment law in Toronto. He has taught international law and human rights at the University of the Gambia, and previously worked as the law clerk to the Chief of Justice of the Federal Court of Canada. He was STAND Canadas first advocacy director from 2006-2008, and he took STANDs message to the Canadian government, 2. Nathaniel Kuch: 4th year undergraduate student at UWO. Nathaniel was brought to the University of Western Ontario through the WUSC Student Refugee Program. He was born in Jonglei State in South Sudan, and grew up living in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. They are going to be talking about the current situation in Sudan, and will discuss their experiences and/or knowledge on genocide. Cant wait to see everyone there!
