Just checked my diary there. Holy sweet Jesus! If this is the life of a Strabane Sinn Féin Councillor, how on earth does an MLA or TD manage? I used to try to keep the weekends free, but the next four are already booked up! Lol. Thank God for a patient supportive family. It is very easy to see why so many women cannot become politically active as they would like to be. The demands of a young family, running a household and working to support your kids is more than enough for anyone In many ways I am blessed to be able to pursue republican politics. My husband and our kids understand and share the same passion to play a part in the long walk to freedom Our town is one where the republican flame is sustained by generations of patriots who have paid a heavy price for their political beliefs. And when I feel like I am not up to the job, I have the inspiration of a host of brave souls who freely and willingly gave more than will ever be demanded of me.
