Just finished seeing American Sniper. Did not walk away from it all ooh-rah and Murica! What I took away from Chris Kyles story was not his battlefield achievements, but how he struggled to reconcile what he lived in combat with trying to live a normal life at home. Our GWOT veterans have have paid an extremely high price physically, spiritually, psychologically and emotionally, and deserve our thanks and our help putting their lives back together. Kyles experience and struggle are representative of hundreds of thousands of veterans. The nitpicking part, one Major and one minor. Major: did not like the portrayal of grunts, non-spec op guys, as ignorant and untrained, needing coaching up. Minor: dudes wearing a scroll (Soldiers serving in the Ranger Regiment) do not wear an airborne tab. It is part of many units insignia (82nd, 101st); it is not a skill tab.
