Just found out about this guy recently - his brilliant diatribe on the Roman Catholic church, which I thoroughly enjoyed (of course) and have yet to post. This elocution reminds me of how I was marked down for "slang" words in an essay I wrote in the third grade. I referred to a small restaurant my family ate at - as "hole in the wall" and a "joint." My teacher did not encourage our writing in the vernacular.
