Just found this ... Drivers going through Caerleon are being warned they could face delays from Thursday 24 July due to essential road works. Resurfacing between Caerleon Bridge and Lodge Road is due to begin on Thursday and is expected to take two weeks. Work will not take place this weekend following the completion of the first phase, between the bridge and Mill Street, and will resume in High Street next week. As full closure of High Street will be required, the one-way system will be suspended in Mill Street to allow two-way signalled controlled traffic. It is requested that the public do not park in Mill Street while the work takes place. Newport City Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this essential work. It is being carried out during the school and university holidays to minimise the disruption but motorists should expect delays to their journeys.
