Just found this video on my phone. It was from two years ago. We had just had lunch in Page, Arizona and were driving the loop thru Arizona back to Utah. We were flying down the highway when we zoomed by a Mom rottie with puppies tettering on the yellow line, two of the pups trying to nurse while mom walked. Immediately we stopped and turned around. Elena put the top up while I jumped out. Mom came right over as did four puppies. Elena and I scooped them up and gave them to Nancy who was in the back seat. Mom jumped right in. I yelled to Elena to keep whistling and making noise as there may be more. After a minute another one came running from behind a rock. After staying there for a while and assuring ourselves there were no more puppies, we headed to the nearest hamburger place and got bottled water and burgers for them. The area that we found them was isolated and all desert, obviously they were dumped. They spent the night with us and then went to Best Friends the next morning for intake. All were adopted including Mom who was named Jersey Girl. That day we werent sure if we would go hiking or go to Arizona. Thank God we went to Arizona. This memory I will treasure forever and Im sure Elena and Nancy will too.
