Just in case anyone was not aware of this yet, a mass school stabbing took place this morning at about 7am at a Pittsburgh regional high school. 20 injured. One 16 year old suspect. Right now I cant understand what could have influenced the suspect to do this. Perhaps suppressed anger from bullying, family stress? Whatever influenced his actions, we need to remember that continually criminalizing the suspect does no good to the situation, rather than perhaps temporarily relieve emotional strain. Instead of putting efforts into sending hate and vengeful wishes to the suspect, we need to take this opportunity to look at ourselves as one community. We need to figure out why this happened, instead of what degree of punishment this suspect deserves. In doing so, we may be able to help prevent future outbreaks such as this tragedy today, and prevent a chain reaction from persisting. Although it is difficult, we need to try our best to not lose hope for humanity, and work together towards making this entire world better and safer for everyone else. Im sick of hearing about all this violence going on, I dont believe its inevitable, but that us people arent putting enough effort and teamwork into fighting this issue. I may not know or be related to any of the victims from the stabbing today, but I feel extremely hurt and upset because we are all connected to one another in this society. I would be broken to hear this happen to anyone close to me. No one needs to hear or deal with any more of this and we need to do something NOW.
