Just received this from a comcerned reader; didnt realise it still went on myself. What does everyone think? Have you been on the receiving end or indeed have you taken part and thought of it as harmless fun? Feel free to message and we can post anonymously. Theres a lot of long term works taking place on the Fazeley Road by the select and save. I am amazed this is still acceptable nowadays, but some of the workmen on there are harassing young schoolgirls, who have to walk past on their way back from school or Ventura. Cat calling, whistling, lewd comments are normal, which seems very 1970s! It may seem minor to some, but this is totally unacceptable in society, and now my daughter has refused to walk home and has no alternative to that route due to the A5 bypass. I plan to ring the construction company, but dont expect to be taken seriously. Shes also told me that harassment from people in cars is common, and makes her feel very uneasy to walk alone even in daylight.
