Just returning home from a court date trial we prepared almost a year to close. My King and I versus this seller of the current home we are in. She failed to disclose items that were pertinent to the sale 2.5 years ago and it cost us a pretty penny to correct the issues. Why is it that our attorney( at least the one who was assigned to us from the senior partner of the firm whom I personally retained for our representation), comes in late on the case about a month ago and is not doing his homework on the case, pissing me off by the minute every time I have to speak with him on our case. First it is MALCOM X earthlight today, and since a month ago he just realized that he got a LIONESS REBEL with a cause on his hands and began to shut me out of the discussions!!! I with respect complied to his request to speak with my King privately the first time when he was assigned our case by the senior partner. He was not prepared to discuss all the details of our case as he kept asking for items we already submitted, including pictures of damage etc. Come today, our expert witnesses are at court, we appear on time and so expecting to close this almost 2 year case today. no such luck! Comes the case is now put off for another 4 months since the defendant needs a translator from Korean to English. I was livid! I asked him, so how come is it that you should have inquired as to the need for this translator, and how come you are still asking for all these already submitted pictures, docs that you should already have since I personally delivered them TWICE to your office???!!! I again said the LIONESS in me as an Afrikan wombman who may not be an attorney but I am intelligent and well aware of the details of this case, more than I can say for this wishy-washy attorney whom if up tome I would have FIRED a long time ago! Like I said, when we were looking to retain an attorney I personally interviewed his BOSS not him as the boss (senior partner) said that the had been a real Estate attorney for years. First of all, I am the wife, and equal partner in this marriage, financially, intellectually and in every way, so I took real attitude with him first asking to speak with my King privately, as he couldnt handle my assertiveness and my valid questions to which he seemed to think that I was trying to be too BOSSY! (said he was the attorney)...LOL last time I remember he was asking my King on the day of court where the pertinent papers were that he was already given months ago! I was getting red behind my ears by the minute and worse more pissed at my king for allowing this man to exclude me from the conversation! I am waiting for tomorrow to give him a courtesy call to remind him that we may never see each other again, as I turned on my heels and stormed off this afternoon on him, my King and the two white male witnesses. I am calling him tomorrow to give him some advice on the next AFRIKANLIONESS with a brain that he may encounter! I refuse to be treated like an empty headed floosy that my king picked up on the street by this incompetent jack ass! So I told my husband I am not going to be at the next scheduled hearing, and that I will not demand respect from someone who deserves none himself! Wrong day!!! I GIVE THANKS TO BROTHER MALCOM X FOR THE FIRE THA T IS A BLACK MIND fed up with being given the run around and for treating a Black wombman like an in animate object, just because you (lawyer) are not doing your damn job and you just want to avoid answering why! and for the grounding to hold my own in the light of injustice and bullshit!
