Just trawling through old photos of Trowbridge. Compare the two photos. Which would you say was the more valuable architecture? Well, the old Roundstone Hotel (in black and white picture) was completely demolished in the 1950s - to make way for a wider paved area and a soul-less lump of concrete and glass in which to house the Post Office. I would say that there was not reason at all that the PO couldnt have made use of that fine old building. Just one of the destructive tragedies to befall many fine edifices in our town over the years. I could go on.
