Just watched this movie on a Netflix called: LITTLE RED WAGON Great inspirational and motivating family true story. Makes you know how badly every little bit of effort is worth. My older boys should watch and remember how close to starving we struggled through and how we were able to pull ourselves up from nothing. We had support of my immediate family, several relatives, close friends, in-laws, an ex-spouse and his family, and we made it, we made it and we thank God we never went homeless. Many thanks Mom & Dad. ♡♥♡ ♡♥♡ I also say a special prayer for our neighbor Helen Perry and her son Billy, without her babysitting for a couple packs of cigs a week (because money would effect her housing benefit) I could never had been able to run from job to job every day & night. Her big pots of stone soup wed put together to feed the boys were the best ever. RIP Helen, you were a treasured gift of God. To Zack my love for you are concerned more for the needs of others than your own. Humble and selfless. I try to give back, especially because as you read I suffered once. My second husband who i had my second son was committed after trying to take our lives. My High School romance first husband who I had my first child with only paid $30 per week, but every week without fail. Anyway we struggled and prayed. Catholic charity and the local TVCCA gave holiday baskets, winter coats, few toys for Christmas. My Mom & Dad paid my car loan and car insurance. We turned off all utilities we could. Then slowly we climbed up in our lives. I went through an amazing bit of education and worked myself off state assistance. (Assistance which originally took an extra 26 weeks because of an error of a clerk not checking my file to see I brought in needed paper work same day as my first appointment. NOW THEY MADE A RECEIPT WITH DATE FOR ALL INCOMING DATA. They had me wait another 9 weeks for a new appointment. At the end of that 6 month journey when my first food stamps came in I stocked the pantry and swore Id never go hungry again.) Currently Ive volunteered at Safe Futures in New London CT. This is a great foundation which provides help for people of all difficulties. It used to be Womans Center but now 25% assistance goes to men. Tuesday nights they host a Battered Women Group with a great councillor Annie. I provide child care in a nearby room so the women can have time too speak freely. MY PROBLEM IS IM THE ONLY ONE? The community resource person has reached out too all Churches and groups with a great presentation but no one show up? My church many are at the soup kitchen, and shelter. What idea comes to you for me to do? I especially feel bad myself. I just got very ill and had my Ģahlbladder out and currently I have influenza B so its been weeks since Ive been their myself.
