NOW, NOW and FOREVER Do you want to live and work with some of Australia’s most remarkable Aboriginal Women Elders who are among the last Indigenous Australians to have been raised and trained in the Old Ways (Kurrarlkatjanu) before the Kartiya (Strangers) arrived in their Ancestral Country only 70 years ago? Do you feel compelled to make a real difference to Aboriginal people, particularly to the Women Elders in one of Australia’s most remote Aboriginal Communities – on the edge of the spectacular Great Sandy Desert? The Kapululangu Aboriginal Women’s Law and Culture Centre in Balgo (Western Australia) is Australia’s most remote women’s centre. It is the only women’s centre in Australia fully dedicated to revitalising and maintaining Aboriginal Women’s ceremony and custom. We are currently searching for: ELDER AND CULTURE SUPPORT WORKER That’s someone who lives with and cares for the Women Elders who are the Senior Law Women and Tjarrtjurra (Women Healers) of our community. This is a five month paid position. Work includes cooking, cleaning, driving and some culture work. ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT … We’re looking for an Administration Assistant to join our team with a particular focus on writing grant applications.
