KARNA (Now Billy). Thought it would be nice to share a few success stories. Karna is an older boy who is the very first dog I rescued before setting up RRA. He was in Breasta public shelter last winter when the shelter were killing hundreds of dogs. It was a terrible time and each day more dogs had been taken to be killed. We saw blood stained kennels and the locals could hear dogs screaming, it was just unbearable. A lady from abroad gave me his photo and asked me to find someone to get him out. I had no contacts really at the time other than a Romanian lady who volunteered in the shelter and she went to get him. She called both of us to say he was old and had no teeth. The lady from abroad told her to leave him there and choose another. We got him. However he was a terrified dog and bit her. She kept him in her foster and I was so worried about what we would do with him and so I started RRA a month or so later when a I had about 9 out by then. I thought that if we started a shelter then dogs like Karna could stay safe over there. More people came on board RRA including a lady called Becky who had a number of dogs herself and does some behavioral work and thank god she did. Karna stayed constantly in the corner of the foster over there virtually the whole time. Becky wanted to give him a chance and look at him now. When he arrived with her he was so scared of human contact. He would scream if anyone tried to stroke him. Now he is such a happy loving dog. I would never have believed it xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
