KETTLE CALLING POT BLACK. There ws a day i ws 2 travel 2 a nearby town 4 an urgent assignmnt. I left early mornin 4 d park just 2 discover an increase in transport fare. Why dis increase since der ws no increase in PMS i ask.It ws den i knew studnts seekin admision into higher institutn had exam in d same town i ws travelin 2. As my questn 2 why dis increas ws nt answerd i joined. Hwever,2my suprise,wen som1 raised d issue of d presnt power suply in d area, d driver ws d first 2 respond 2 d issue with curse nd all sort of abusive words on d govt.According 2 him,d govt were just cheating us dat we pay 4 wot we didn‘t enjoy.he also opined dat our govt ar too corrupt dat dey can‘t fix it. After much talk,i asked him: ‘baba u ar abusin d govt nw but why dis increament on fare dat normaly ought 2 b #200 to #600‘.he said let‘s just plead 2 d govt.I insisted: ‘baba dis has nothin 2 do with d govt becoz der is no increase in d price of PMS‘. He den said: ‘we must feed of course,wife,children ar all der nd dey must all eat‘. No doubt,d hike in transport fare ws as a result of excess commuters on dat day.It ws becoz dis young nigerians were in haste in getin where dey were 2 write der exams nd so,d people in charge of T fare took advantage of d day. Dis is d common experience in our major cities whereby any events or ocurence dat made people 2 be stranded along d street is takin advantage of by our commercial drivers. Yet dis people wil be among dos dat wil call d govt cheat. If i may ask who is free?
