KQA is a fantasy RPG much closer to the old school RPGs of the pen - TopicsExpress

KQA is a fantasy RPG much closer to the old school RPGs of the pen and paper sort, or to the map tile based adventures of earlier computer games than the modern super-graphic games (we will get to making those later) of modern gaming. The emphasis of KQA is to learn while having fun. You crawl through dungeons and ruins fighting monsters and gaining treasure, but the combat is based on your real-world knowledge. Every local area will focus on a "course." Each "course" will consists of about 200 questions on a given subject. You get asked questions and if you answer correct, your attack hits, but answer incorrectly and your attack misses. But you are not thrown into the heat of battle unarmed. You will be able to visit the tutors of each local area. There, they provide the answers to all the questions you may see. Of course, the knowledgeable, brave, and foolish may just rush into battle without going to the tutor. Items will help you deal more damage and thus disposing of your adversaries quicker, or grant you more time to respond to the questions, or even bring you back to life should your opponents overwhelm you. You can choose the courses and the level of the dungeons. Want to brush up on the period table? Enter the local area of Chemistry - the Periodic Table and adventure away. Before you know it, you will have mastered the basics of the table and acquired treasure and experience. Want to improve your vocabulary, geography, biology, English, math, or any other knowledge you can do so through playing. Obviously at launch we will not have every topic of human knowledge, but the game will continually be improved with new topics and more in-depth subjects being added over time.
