Kalu Uche, Martins Injured Kasimpasa of Turkey are now sweating over the future of Kalu Uche with the club, as the former Almeria and Espanyol of Spain star, who has been hinted with a possible summer move to China, is reportedly still down with injury; while his compatriot, and also former Spain-based striker, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins is also reportedly out of action with Seattle Sounders of America on account of another injury copped in action with the MLS club. Although the Turkish Super Lig side are yet to give consent to Kalu hopes of joining the array of Nigerian top players in the Chinese Super League, he was conspicuously missing in Ksaimpasa’s first match of the pre-season. Kalu’s absence further raised dusts about his unfolding plans in the summer transfer spree, as he was missing in the club’s fixture against Romanian side, Viitorul Constanta that ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw on Sunday. However, the official report from Kasimpasa is that the 30-year old Kalu, who missed the Super Eagles trip to Brazil for the recent FIFA Confederations Cup, in a bid to treat an injury he reportedly played with prior to the end of last season, was left out of the side that faced Viitorul as he is yet to regain full fitness. In Kalu’s absence, Kasimpasa new signing and Dutch international Ryan Babel kick started his Istanbul career on a bright note with a brace on the night. In a similar development, Obafemi Martins is nursing a calf injury and did not feature for Seattle against San Jose Earthquakes, having earlier copped a knock against Vancouver and was ruled out of last weekend’s game. Ironically, before copping his latest injury, Obagol had been picked for the MLS Team of Week 20, following his brace against DC United and has scored seven goals since he joined Sounders. The former Inter Milan of Italy, Newcastle United of England, VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, Birmingham City of England, Rubin Kazan of Russia and Levante of Spain striker has been unlucky with injuries since he joined the Major League Soccer (MLS) side. "Oba still hasn’t recovered from the kick he took in the calf in the Vancouver game," disclosed Seattle coach, Sigi Schmid.
