Kassie Lowery is in recovery now. After 4 hours 55 minutes of surgery. She is going to ICU for a few days. Doc said She may be needing a blood transfusion but not for sure yet. Dr. was able to get tail of pancreas off but could not go much further safely. Dr had to attach pancreas body to the stomach for drainage. Said the pancreas was still very inflamed and very hard to see where stint was in duct and worried about major blood vessels getting damaged. So part of pancreas that is scarred she had to leave. Kassie has two JP drains that drain outside of body that will come out in a couple weeks. This will show if there is any leakage after she is able to start eating. They have her an epideral for pain control for the next few days then will go from there. Thank you for all of your prayers. Will update often.
