Kenny Wheeler was reported to have died earlier this year by a vacuous celebrity hoax site. This time sadly its true. When the hoax site reported on his death the ill conceived joke was that no one would care if a reclusive shy jazz musician had died. The false post attracted a million likes and messages of grief. We cared deeply about this man and his music. He was highly regarded across all genres from the avant guarde to rock. Once voted the second best trumpeter in the world he mostly played flugal horn. The same celebrity site also put up posts stating that he was the highest grossing musician in the world (ha ha) and that his dog was recovering from surgery (now those two were very funny)
