Keri, one of our veterinary technicians, has a special understanding of chihuahuas. This is Paco and even tho he is a tiny little guy, he has been a serious defender of his turf in the past when receiving veterinary care ☺. This is Keri and a confident, comfortable Paco today. She took advantage of our staff meeting to give Paco some extra attention and relax time. An understanding of the fear of veterinary care, which some of our patients can have, is key to what we can accomplish with less restraint and holding. Often, the addition of positive reinforcement with treats and praise reward will go a long way, but in some cases it is the connection a member of our staff is able to make with the patient!
