Kevin Poole DAN THE MAN!! Richland Center was very well represented. Dan was sick all week and did not have the best meet, he did not lift his best....at first, lol. He almost scratched on the squat, his worst event, he failed his first 2 lifts and then nailed 345 on his final attempt. He made up for it on the bench press, he hit his first lift of 255, he then lifted 265 on his 2nd but then failed going after the state record at 280. Then he really turned it on, he hit all 3 deadlifts, his final lift was a Personal Best of 420. So he qualified for state with a total of 1030lbs, he needed 950. He won his varsity weight class and WAS THE BEST MALE LIFTER AT THE MEET! sorry, a little excited, pound for pound Dan Poole might be the strongest kid in the state.
