Kew Librarian, Virginia Mills, writes about the Joseph Hooker Correspondence Project, which tells the story of the Victorian plant collector who brought rhododendrons back to Kew from his travels to the Himalayas. The son of Kews first Director, William Hooker, Joseph was one of the first European visitors to go to Sikkim, now a tourist attraction for lovers of the massive, brightly coloured rhododendrons that grow there.
