Kia ora friends, Those of you who have been following us for a while will know that we have a dream to build our own Koha Kitchen community cooking school immediately adjacent to the Common Unity garden. With this facility we will be able to feed the children of Epuni Primary School daily, hold free community workshops teaching gardening and cooking skills, and provide a space for other community groups and activities. We have worked with local eco architects First Light Studio Ltd to design a large, spacious pavilion built around two recycled shipping containers, which will be converted into kitchen, classroom and storage spaces. Our facility will model the sustainable use of clean, green technologies to our community. We have been shortlisted to receive a substantial grant from Australasian health insurance company Medibank, which would give this exciting project some major momentum. PLEASE VOTE TO SUPPORT OUR KOHA KITCHEN at mcfcommunitygrants.au/#nz-tab, and share this post to spread the word to your friends, whānau and colleagues. Its a very quick and simple way you can help our fundraising for this initiative, which will be of huge benefit to our community. Thanks, as always, for your support of our Project. Together, we build!
