Kunan Poshpora gang rape case: Court dismisses revision petition by army Srinagar: The first legal challenge by the Indian army after passing 23 years in the Kunan Poshpora mass rape and torture case has been dismissed by a local court in Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Saturday. According to GNS, the sessions Court, Kupwara dismissed the revision petition of the Indian army that sought an end to further investigations ordered in the case on 18 June 2013 by Sub-judge, Judicial Magistrate, Kupwara. This was the first legal challenge by the Indian army since the crimes were committed in 23/24 February in 1991. Rather than legally facing the allegations, the army has consistently sought to intimidate and slander the survivors, and through various persons and institutions obfuscate the truth.
