Kung Fu Saloon Dallas got a new spokesperson, and they have - TopicsExpress

Kung Fu Saloon Dallas got a new spokesperson, and they have finally released a new statement, which once again misses the point completely: Kung Fu Saloon has always been a welcoming establishment, so we have taken this matter seriously. While accounts of what may have taken place vary, the important thing is that our team is fully committed to providing all our patrons an enjoyable time. Several City of Dallas officials dropped in for a short visit just the other day and got to experience this for themselves. Kung Fu Saloon has been open less than two years. The company’s dress code policy was recently reviewed, updated and posted in a more visible location. It is based on dress codes that many high schools use. Please let the record show that through this all, Kung Fu Saloon STILL hasnt reached out to me. I havent spoken to them since I called shortly after the incident. They have made no attempts to rectify this situation with me or the hundred some-odd people who have spoken up and said that they were discriminated against at Kung Fu Saloon. Thats OK, though - Ill have a chance to speak to them in court, when the city prosecutes them for discrimination and refuses to renew their SUP license. The city is aiming to fine them $500 per incident of discrimination - we have 30 people committed to showing up to court to testify that they were discriminated against at Kung Fu Saloon. You can do the math - north of $15,000, and climbing. Kung Fu Saloon is blaming their racism policies on the fact that they have been open for less than two years. Thousands of restaurants around the US are somehow able to be open without discriminating against people because of the color of their skin. The hundreds of people who have left comments on the #NoKungFu Facebook page, Kung Fus Yelp page (all three) have not all just made some huge mistake. The employee that has stepped forward to say that she was instructed to discriminate against ethnic people has not made a mistake. The video shot showing Kung Fu Saloon turning away people of color was not a mistake. What is a mistake, however, is Kung Fu Saloon severely underestimating the people of Dallas - there is no place for your racism in our city.
