LANGUAGE CAREER & INTERNSHIP FAIR 2014 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN The University of Maryland (UMD), a nationally-ranked research institution, cordially invites your organization to participate in our 6th Annual Language Career & Internship Fair on October 22, 2014, from 11am - 3pm. The event is co-sponsored by the University Career Center & The Presidents Promise, The School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (languages.umd.edu) and the new Graduate Studies in Interpreting and Translation program (gsit.umd.edu). This fair is an excellent opportunity to connect with University of Maryland undergraduate and graduate students seeking full-time, part-time, and internship positions in a variety of fields that value foreign language and cross-cultural proficiency. Now in its 2nd year, the new Graduate Studies Program in Interpreting and Translation (GSIT), is one of only two full-service interpreting and translation graduate programs in the United States. The GSIT program features the following offerings: Interpreting: * Graduate Certificate in Professional Studies in Consecutive Interpreting * Master of Professional Studies in Interpreting (with two tracks): o Conference Interpreting; or Public Service Interpreting Translation: * Graduate Certificate in Professional Studies in Translation * Master of Professional Studies in Translation (with two tracks): o Translation; or Translation and Localization Project Management The programs target languages include Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, French, German, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, and Russian.
