LAZ WANTS NEW CONSTITUTION BEFORE 2016 The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has advised government to call for a roundtable discussion with all relevant stakeholders in order to come up with a national program that will allow the enactment of the new constitution before the 2016 general elections. LAZ president George Chisanga says this is especially that all the work that the technical committee was tasked to do in coming up with a draft constitution has been done and all that remains is the enactment of the constitution. Mr. Chisanga said this is why his association does not see any reason for the continued delay of the enactment of the country’s supreme law. Mr. Chisanga said the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) should also be mindful that it campaigned on the promise of enacting the constitution within 90 days and therefore it is not right to allow the constitutional making process to drag any further.
