LCHS ANNOUNCEMENTS 10-21-13 ATTN: SENIORS There will be an admissions counselor from Morehead State University here on the stage during lunch on Wednesday October 23rd. If students have any questions regarding this visit or want to meet with the counselor after lunch for further questioning, please see Mrs. Frederick in room 185. ************************************************************************************* ATTN: SENIORS Kentucky State University will be hosting its open house on Sat. Nov. 9th. From 8AM to 4PM. For more information please see the poster on the bulletin board outside Mr. Brooks’ office. ************************************************************************************* ATTN: Seniors Kentucky Wesleyan College is excited to share upcoming events with your students!! Fall Open Houses –Nov. 16 Students may register at kwc.edu/visit or by calling the KWC Admissions Office at 800-999-0592 *************************************************************************************ATTN: Seniors KSBA Scholarship $2500 Due Nov. to Coach Brooks Nov. 1st Eligibility Nominees must be: A high school senior intending to go to college; 1) From an immediate family (parents, guardians, siblings) who has not earned a college degree; 2) Have obtained an ACT reading score of at least 20 as a junior or senior. 3) The one-page application with ACT reading score, age, address and verification that there is no college graduate among immediate family must be signed by guidance counselor, board chairman and superintendent. Pick up an application in Coach Brooks’ Office ****************************************************************** ATTN: ALL Softball conditioning will begin on November 11 at 3:15. You must have a current physical on file at the school. If you need a physical, please see Coach Crawford or Coach Gardner. ***************************************************************************** ATTN: ALL The weight room will be open every Tuesday and Friday after school until 4:15 for the rest of the semester until Christmas Break. This is for anyone who wants to come work out. All students must have an up to date physical on file in order to lift. ***************************************************************************** ATTN: ALL Anyone that knows of a student that has done volunteer work in the last year and would like to nominate that student for the 2014 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. The local nominee is eligible for state recognition, a $1000 award and a trip to Washington, DC. To nominate someone see the poster outside the guidance office or see one of the counselors. Due Nov. 5th. ATTN: BOOK CLUB Next meeting will Oct. 30th at 1:20 in the 21st century classroom. ONLY those who have turned in the permission form will be allowed to attend the meeting.
