LCS PTO Minutes August 12, 2014 Commons Area Call to Order: 6:00 pm Members Present: Jessica Bills, Jennifer Blonde, Jennifer Yinger, and Shelly Wykes. There were 12 public participants. Consent Agenda was approved and a motion was made by Jennifer Yinger and seconded by Jennifer Blonde to place these on file. Corey Bills participated in the call to public, asking if the Litchfield Youth Sports Committee could present Flag Football information at our LCSPTO Sweet Corn Days Booth. Jennifer Yinger accepted his proposal and made a motion for said proposal. Jennifer Blonde supported this motion. As a result, please stop at the LCSPTO Sweet Corn Days Booth for refreshments, bounce house, and flag football sign up and information. Title One did not have new information other than the summer reading program is continuing with another mailing this week. Marylou Sitkiewicz also added that she hopes to evaluate the summer readers to see how effective this program was and will follow up with the parents of those students involved. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to call, email, or text Marylou. New Business includes Sweet Corn Days. There was a motion made for hotdogs, soda, buns, chips, and water to be sold at our Sweet Corn Days booth by Jennifer Blonde and supported by Shelly Wykes. Also at our booth will be a bounce house donated by the City of Litchfield to benefit the children of LCS. Thank you to the City of Litchfield for that donation. Feel free to volunteer your time or talents while you are there on our volunteer sign-up sheet or give us your input/ideas which are valuable as well. Other New Business includes the Carnival August 28th from 5:30-7:30pm during the LCS Open House. The Carnival will have many games including a water balloon toss, Frisbee tic tac toe, football throw, Terrier Spirit decorating, and much more! Tickets will be $.25 each. There are many different prizes as well as a taco/nacho dinner. Prices are: taco-$1, nachos-$1.50, nachos w/meat-$2.00, soda or water-$1.00, and chocolate chip cookies (pending)-$.50. We look forward to a great kick off this year, not only to set the standard for the year, but also to welcome our new teachers and show them what Terrier Pride is all about! Other Business: Jennifer Yinger motioned for the Appreciation Frame (10x13) to be displayed in LCS and Jennifer Blonde seconded that motion. Meeting adjournment motion made by Jennifer Blonde at 6:56pm and seconded by Jennifer Yinger. The next PTO meeting will be the second Tuesday of September (9th) at 6:00pm in the IMC (Instructional Media Center). Hope to see you there!
