LETS DO THIS BEFORE SANTA GETS HERE....... A bee is never as busy as it seems; its just that it cant buzz any slower.~ Ken Hubbard ;) Are we done yet? You know better, right? I guess whether I like it or not, the season is in full swing already, and my push for a Lance Christmas is as well... It all started with a nice bit of work on Thursday, nineteen hours of it in fact, and after about 3 hours of sleep I went back to back again yesterday...and tonight its back downtown for another holiday party at the Museum...Which I dig a lot, by the way, because I get to be around people celebrating the arrival of Christmas, and happiness usually abounds around them...I have to say, think its contagious, because Ive got a bit of that happy thing going on too... It can be a tough time all the way around for a guy like me when this month arrives each year of course, and I am sure Im not alone when it comes to that...With the memories, both good and bad, that seem to come up when I reminisce about the days of old, to the fact that there is never enough money, or time to get everything on my list done, keeping a good attitude is always an important thing. Now, I havent really gotten to the point where I only have ONE MORE LAST CHANCE to get everything done perfectly before Christmas arrives yet, but Im sure that before I know it, Ill be there, freakin out with the rest of the natural world, trying to get that last minute shopping stuff over with so I can enjoy the holiday as it should be enjoyed...With family and friends....and some of that love mixed in as well...Not to mention its my first Christmas in Alaska right? And is there any better place to be than in a state where Santa actually keeps his residence? Thats right, baby, North Pole, Alaska is just a short 500 miles north of here, and Mr. & Mrs. Claus usually have a party going on all year...or so Ive been told that is...One thing I did learn recently, however, is that getting to their house can be a logistical nightmare. Especially if you dont have a bunch of dogs and a sled. Its no wonder Santa had to go out in the wilderness and recruit some magical Reindeer that fly...theres not enough roads for him to drive..... So, I guess no matter how I look at it, getting er done is my theme for the month, as Im sure it might be for some other people out there. Long lines, fighting for the last Barbie on the shelf, all the frustrations, all the victories of finding that perfect gift, the drunk relatives, and who could forget, the office Christmas parties where inevitably someone embarrasses themselves by kissing the boss, then dancing naked on the table, its all here...wrapped up in 23 days of what I like to call....the fun times, for us to enjoy....Somebody has too, right?
