LOGAN UPDATE: We saw Dr. Yancy at Riley North this afternoon. She stated pretty much what we already knew. It definitely is cancer, but the treatment is surgery with clear surgical margins, and weve already done that! A full examination revealed no swollen lymph nodes or tenderness, either. She said our homework is just to watch his eyelid for any abnormalities, and to call Logans surgeon at the first sign of anything out of the ordinary. She said less than 100 cases have ever been reported, and the youngest was a late teenager. The only time it has ever recurred is when the surgeon did not remove all of the tumor to begin with so that person wasnt actually cancer free to begin with. It has never metastasized. At this time no further testing is needed, and the primary goal is to get Logans eyelid healed properly. Tomorrow we go back up to the surgery center to get the last two stitches out, and hopefully we dont need to see the surgeon again until he does the final surgery! Please pray for Logans nerves. Two weeks ago he made himself throw up on the way to get stitches out and had to be sedated. He says hes going to be fine this time, but he has said that before! This is easy peasy compared to what hes already been through! Hopefully he can start school on time in one week! This is all I can think of right now. Feel free to ask questions and share!
